our roots

Bio: Lizzie Bett

Lizzie started raiding her Mother's and Grandmother's recipe books from the age of 10 and landed her first job in a restaurant kitchen at 20 whilst studying at Cardiff University, subsequently completing a course at Leiths School of Food and Wine. This propelled her into a decade of travelling and cooking all over the world, settling in Sydney for a few years working for a bespoke catering company. Not long after her return to the UK she was off again, cooking with the Ferrari Formula One Team and Moto GP.  From catering for thousands for the launch of a cruise ship in Sydney Harbour, to VIP catering in a car park in Rio, Lizzie is equally at home cooking a feast in your kitchen.

More recently we have catered for the BBC and their guests in Duke of Yorks, several weddings across Sussex, and we have a great knowledge of some brilliant venues in the county. Yolk has built up some wonderful partnerships in Brighton and can often be found putting on pop up restaurant evenings at Cafe Rust or supper clubs in Lizzie's open plan home.

Passionate about her career, Lizzie feels blessed to combine her love of food with travel and catering to a crowd, bringing all those intense flavours of Asia, the Americas  and the Middle East back to Brighton using the best of our local seasonal produce.
